ScottEdil get CDSCO Approval for the Prussian Blue formulations as antidote for Radioactive Cesium/Thallium Poisoning

Scott Edil Pharmacia, Baddi received CDSCO approval for the Prussian blue formulations (Pru-Decorp and Pru-Decorp MG) along with approval for Prussian Blue Insoluble API with the help of its collaborator M/s Skanttr life Sciences, Ahemdabad. Scott Edil Pharmacia developed Prussian Blue formulations under the Technology Development Fund project of Defence Research and Development Organisations (DRDO). This project was sanctioned to Scott Edil in 2020 based on laboratory level research done by one of DRDO’s R&D laboratory Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences. Delhi (INMAS). With a thorough technical handholding from INMAS DRDO, Scott Edil could successfully complete the development of two Prussian blue formulations 1) Prussian blue insoluble capsules (Pru-Decorp) and 2) Prussian Blue insoluble and Magnesium Hydroxide Capsules (Pru-Decorp MG).

Pru-Decorp is a conventional release capsule of Prussian blue insoluble which is a generic equivalent of Radiogardase-Cs capsules (USFDA approved Prussian Blue insoluble capsules). Pru-Decorp MG is a combination of Prussian Blue insoluble and Magnesium Hydroxide. This formulation is meant for the rescue responders or subjects entering the zone which is known or suspected to be contaminated with radioactive or non-radioactive isotope of Cesium and Thallium. In addition to Prussian blue formulations, CDSCO has also approved the Prussian blue insoluble API developed in collaboration with M/s Skantrr Life Sciences thus rendering India self-reliant in Prussian blue insoluble API as well as its formulations.

The project was spearheaded by a team of DRDO SCIENTISTS AND TECHNICAL EXPERTS with a strong support from Technology Development Fund (TDF) DRDO.
